Planopti's calculation engine (CP-SAT, from Google OR-Tools) is an open-source tool used in production across industry. It works through every possible roster and keeps the best one that respects all your rules. No AI, no approximation: every assignment is explained by one of your rules.

No rule is fixed in the software. When you first open it, you pick the profile for your sector: healthcare, airports, security, transport, logistics. Then you adjust what is specific to you: vocabulary, contract types, qualifications, rest periods, forbidden sequences, required headcount per position. Every rule is switched on and weighted from the interface.

Fairness that is measured, not felt.
The engine spreads working days, shifts and hours across the staff of each group and penalises every gap. Weekends off are guaranteed, isolated days off avoided, absences and holidays removed from the calculation so nobody is penalised. After each calculation, the report shows the remaining gaps, employee by employee.

Software in your browser, on-premise or hosted.
Planopti opens in your browser. On your premises, it runs on a workstation or an internal server, with no internet connection: nothing leaves your organisation. Hosted online, your planners reach it from anywhere, and hosting conditions (location, backups, access) are agreed in writing with you before going live. In both cases, your data is yours. You import your Excel files, you run the calculation, you adjust on the grid, you export. The calculation uses the machine's processor and memory; no graphics card is needed.
